Current travel restrictions to Australia

In order to protect the health of our Australian community, there are strict border measures  currently in place as of July 2020

The numbers of  available flights to and from Australia are very limited, which may be restricting visa holders as well as citizens to travel at this time.

Mandatory quarantine for 14 days is imposed on all incoming passengers including Australian citizens. The quarantine will take place at a designated facility, such as a hotel, in their port of arrival.

It may be decided at a later stage that you may be have to pay for the costs of your quarantine.

The online exemption form 

The exemption form must be completed  online https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/departmental-forms/online-forms/covid19-enquiry-form

As per the exemption form, only limited circumstances can allow Applicants to travel to Australia, including if they are an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, an immediate family member of an Australian citizen or permanent resident or are a New Zealand citizen usually resident in Australia.

Travellers seeking compassionate or compelling grounds to travel to Australia must get an exemption from the Australian Border Force Commissioner.

Travellers should apply for an exemption at least 4 weeks, but not more than 3 months, before planned travel.

You must have a valid visa , or a processing visa in order to apply for the exemption form.
